Palestinian solidarity and scholarships
We are a team of academics, writers and activists who have worked since January 2024 to secure university scholarships abroad to Palestinian students still under siege in Gaza or evacuated from Gaza to Cairo. To protect our Palestinian students and ourselves from harassment, we do not disclose our name except to individual donors, institutional funders, and cooperating schools. To date, we have secured over 150 scholarships, from tuition waivers to fully-paid scholarships with stipends. Hundreds and hundreds more students await our assistance.
We have an immediate need for an experienced bookkeeper or accountant (CPA not necessary). Our organization has a 501(c)(3) non-profit fiscal sponsor which is managed by a CPA. He maintains excellent accounting of all donations and expenses. However, we need additional and substantive support to allow us to organize and forecast the expenses for each student we serve, who are at different schools with widely varying expenses. We also need regular financial reports that are understandable to our all-volunteer steering committee.
While this is our primary need, we of course have an ongoing need for fundraising help, as well with assistance with writing thank you letters to donors.
