GLSEN is an education organization working to ensure K-12 schools are safe and affirming for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, by empowering students and training educators to transform school climates.

Volunteers (including educators, students, and parents) form local GLSEN chapters to run programs like Day of Silence and Ally Week in schools, provide LGBTQ-inclusive training workshops for teachers, start or support Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs), and advocate for school district policies protecting LGBTQ students.
