Fight for $15
Focus Areas
Location
A nationwide movement of low-wage workers that began with fast-food workers striking in 2012 in NYC, demanding a $15/hr minimum wage and the right to form a union
Community and labor volunteers stand in solidarity on strike lines during Fight for $15 “Day of Action” strikes, help fast-food and retail workers organize unions in their stores, amplify workers’ stories in the media, and lobby city and state officials to raise minimum wages. Many supporters also participate in “McDonald’s shareholder meeting” protests or join the Fight for $15’s social media team to flood companies’ pages with the campaign message.
